FEATURES:

1. SNMP version 1 and version 2 compliant.
2. Very simple upgradation path to all coming SNMP versions.
3. Can run on windows 95/98/200, Linux machines.
4. Can detect topology of Network i.e. Segments/Routers/Hosts on the network automatically.
   (Autodiscovery Of Network)
5. User interactive drawing of autodiscoverd Network
6. User friendly way to draw the network diagram (topology of network) ,other then autodiscoverd
   Network and then manage it. It provides a way to save the network diagram in a file, which can 
   be used later.
7. The entire network can be surveyed to find which network elements are up and which network 
   elements are down.
8. Supports SNMP SET, GET and GET-NEXT request in this release. 
9. Also listen for TRAPS.
10.SNMP GET and GET-NEXT is done using MIB Browser feature of the product, which displays the 
   MIB in form of a tree.
11.SNMP SET is done using MIB Editor feature of the product.
12.SNMP set request is authenticated, so that a malicious user getting hold of user interface of
   the product can't do any damage to the network.
13.Network Tools such as "ping" is also provided with client, Network Manager can test the   
   Network performance using varied size/number of packets using this tool.  


INSTALLATION :

DVS-NMS Server : Run setup executable for installing server for NMS, which is kept in the 
                 /DVS-NMS/server directory of provided CD.

DVS-NMS Client :  Run setup executable for installing client for NMS, which is kept in the 
                  /DVS-NMS/client directory of provided CD.

                  As DVS-NMS client is java based so download the "java runtime environment"
                  if you do not have already. 


HOW TO RUN:

From command-prompt:

       NMS Server: run  nms-ms.exe from "C:\Program Files\DVS-NMS\server"
   
       NMS Client: run  nms-mc.exe from "C:\Program Files\DVS-NMS\client"
                      
OR

server and client can be run directly from the start-program-DVS NMS Server and  
start-program-DVS NMS Client menu. 

TO LISTEN TRAPS:

To listen trap, each agent in the network should be configured with the IP Address of the 
NMS-Server. To configure agent, refer your SNMP agent's manual.
